Today in our photography class, we learned more about lighting and how to read that monitor. Their are different types of lighting, butterfly (the main light directly in front of the subjects face and adjusting the height to create a shadow directly under, and in line with, the nose.,) Broad (when the main light is positioned in such a way that it illuminates the side of the face that is turned toward the camera.) Short (when the main light illuminates the side of the face that is turned away from the camera.) and Rembrandt (by combining short lighting and butterfly lighting.) We went into the studio and learned how to read the monitor to get the appiture correct for lighting.
